Lapford Mill Cottage is located within the Lapford Mill complex along with the watermill and owner's cottage, and overlooks the courtyard and leat serving the old water mill.
Our holiday cottage has separate living and kitchen-dining areas downstairs with a shower room and two bedrooms upstairs with shared bathroom, and a cosy sitting room, complete with upright piano for the musically talented and staircase leading to the upper landing.
The kitchen has dining for four at the table, an upright piano for the musically talented(!) and overlooks the mill garden. The connecting corridor leads to the downstairs WC with shower and Sitting Room.
Upstairs there is a twin room and a double room, both with twin aspect and separated by a second bathroom.
The Victorian built four story watermill opposite boasts pop-up cafe serving barista coffees, fresh local hot & cold produce, and a licensed bar in the grain store three days a week through the summer. This space is available by prior arrangement with the owner for guests and friends, or always happy to welcome guests who would like to see the machinery, or just to sit in the leather club chairs by the log burner and have a glass or two!
The grounds comprise of the Wheel Garden, housing the restored 12' timber iron waterwheel, and a further 4 acres of parkland beyond and just great for dogs!
Immediately across the road from the mill gates is a further private woodland which runs along the Lapford Yeo river, complete with a fire pit and our Timber Loft (a cabin on stilts!) great for fishing, cooking, wildlife watching and relaxing. Guests can book private time in the woodlands by prior arrangement with the owner.
